New plans for this site

This site was first build a few years ago, 2018 or 2019, I guess. I still had my old hamradio call PD0ALX and was novice licensed. It’s purpose was to be a spot on the internet for my hamradio hobby.

Besides being a radio amateur, I had and have other hobbies. Photography. Music (passive, listening only; not playing an instrument). Toying with software and hardware. But also enjoy cooking. I posted sometimes about it on platforms like Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram. But I’m moving slowly away from them and am replacing them with fediverse alternatives. I like them being open source and not owned by companies who follow you everywhere to monitize as much as possible on your data.

I like having my own spot on the internet, owned by myself. So, lets broaden the scope of this website: not only hamradio from this point on. And lets see where this brings us.

Goals for the future: closing down my presence on Twitter/X, Instagram and Facebook. It’ll be not an easy step as I was on those sites for a long time. And am somewhat uneasy stopping to follow a few friends and relatives. But to be honest, how much posts did you actually get to see which are from people you follow. These platforms are packed with memes, videos and also a lot of, not alwas very friendly, discussion.

Although certainly Instagram could be enjoying, it mostly ended up in doom scrolling for hours and not feeling very fulfilled. So what happens when you leave these platforms?

To end this post on a note:

This is me and Michel (left), who I’m proud of calling my boyfriend and partner in crime. I love being with him and enjoying life together.

Now, being more open about that aspect of my private life, I conclude with wishing you a happy day.
